Meeting Ali Edwards!!!

This morning I went to a workshop of Ali Edwards ofcourse in The Netherlands. And it was FUN FUN FUN. First of all, Ali is a real nice and friendly person. She is funny to. You probably already know that, but I didn't.... haha.

We made a really nice mini-album, with tags in it. And some embossing which I never had done before and that was really fun doing! And the best of it all: ALI LIKED MY ALBUM. I was kinda finished and she looked at my album (the front), and said: HEY, THIS IS GREAT. I'd changed the front. Or, in fact, I made one of my own. You get an example and most people just make exactly the example, which is OK. I just wanted to change the front (cover) and the interior also LOL. She picked it up and said "gonna make a picture of this...". So there I was, taking a class from THE Ali Edwards, and SHE was making a picture of MY MINI-ALBUM. He he. That was fun. I was kind of acting relaxed, but in the inside my head was like: SHE'S MAKING A PICTURE OF MY BOOK. SHE IS ACTUALLY MAKING A PICTURE. LOL.

At the end she signed my book ('love your creativity, hee hee!!), and I got my picture (a few of them) taken. I said: 'well, I should have been taken a picture of you taken a picture of my mini-album'. "Well", she said, "we can re-act that". Ha ha. Ofcourse, I jumped up, got my camera, and Ali posed taking the picture. Ha ha. That was really funny. So Ali made a joke about putting this on her blog... we'll see... And Ali, if you're reading this: THANX! You made my day. I know you don't feel like a celebrity, but in fact: YOU ARE.

So, to get some jealous faces, here are the pictures....!
yes, happy faces!!

Funny isn't it??

Now, I'm off to bed. We'll be moving tomorrow. Early in the morning I'll get Sanne to Grandma and Grandpa. She was with them today and had lots of fun. They told me that she played outside for the whole afternoon enjoying herself. Sometimes coming in to get a kiss, and then played outside again. And thát's why we're moving to a house with A GARDEN. So she can have fun playing outside!! I'll pick her up tomorrow as soon as the stuff is moved. Luckely we're moving just 2 minutes from our old home, and Grandma & Grandpa live only 2 minutes away also....

Have a nice weekend ;)))

Update on our house!

Well.... we are moving next Sunday (26th of February). Because the 25th I first have to go to the workshop of Ali Edwards. Yes... cannot miss that. So that's why we're moving Sunday. Thanx to my love Arjan! And I'm so proud of him. He did everything in our house. Well... the painting of the windows (the wooden things...), the doors, the walls and the ceiling is done by a professional painter, but all the breaking down of the old stuff, building walls, building the kitchen, building the toilet, making the bathroom, doing the electricity, the suwer (how do you spell that...??), the floor, the carpetting... and I can go on and on and on... He is just the BEST. And I tell him that. I ask him: HOW DO YOU KNOW ALL OF THIS?? With big eyes. He sais: well, it's not that difficult, I just know...'. I SO LOVE this man... Okay, enough of a tribute....
Some update pics:
one side of the living room. Not yet our new floor in the picture..... I'll try to make new shots tomorrow!!
other side of the livingroom.
Arjan working hard on the kitchen! Lime green tiles are coming in between the cabinets!!! And the white drawers aren't right yet. We'll get new fronts for that.
Look at her!! Having the best time in our frontgarden. Yessss that has to be done to, but that have to wait after we've moved!
And isn't she funny? When she looks in the mirror she sings the Pippi Longstocking song and holds her hair (she askes every morning to make "Pippi Longstocking hair please". Hee Hee. She is just cracking me up. This evening, when I get her in her bed, I asked if Tapie (that's her favorite stuffed animal) to give me a kiss (she's used to do so). Now she said: "No can't do that. He bites.... (with this serious face). He has teeth you know...". HEE HEE. I was laughing out loud, and suddenly she let Tapie attack me. Hee hee. I was laughing even harder and she said: "You see? He bites... told you". Haa haa. LOVE that girl!

So we're moving Sunday, so probably my lost update for a while. The next post will be of some pics of our finished home (I HOPE!!).

Secrets of a bookshelf....

Wow, Anita tagged me with this fun idea of hers!! 'Secrets of a bookshelf'. So I've made some fun pictures (I guess...) and a little bit of explaining to you will be nice right?

This is still in our 'old' home, we will be moving Februari 26th. This is my bookshelf, or well, cabinet (or what's the word...). Some nice scrapprojects there (some Canvas, some mini-albums, some photo-albums...). Mostly books, books and books on my bookshelf. I LOVE to read a lot. But Scrapbooking is my all time favorite!!! So some more close up pics, to explain what books I read usually:

On the left a lot of books of John Grisham. I've read a LOT of those. Loved them. Now not that many anymore, they sure look like eachother....

Here are 2 boxes with some cd-roms, photo's etc. And a little mini-album of my pregnancy of Sanne. Next to it 3 Scrapbookalbums. Beneath more books: Nicci Frenches, Karen Slaughter (she is the BEST), Maeve Binchy, Ronald Giphart (Dutch and very funny!), Leon de Winter (also Dutch and also really awesome).
And there some books for Scrapbooking. My magazines (which I all keep are somewhere else... I read Creating Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks, Paperkuts, Scrapbook Magazine (Dutch), ScrapAmore (Dutch), Creatief met Foto's (Duuhhh Dutch), The Art of Stamping & Scrapbooking (also Dutch). Well... come to think about it, I read an awful lot of scrapbook magazines right...? And I've got those yummy little books Artistic Effects from CK and Elements, Ali Edwards book, Cathy Zielske (first, when the second one comes out in Holland I'll be the first to buy it!), Fay Morrow Bell's book, and there are ofcourse the 3 books of Donna Downey, she is so incredibly good, it's not normal anymore....
And ofcourse some cooking books which I never USE... Shame on me. But in my new kitchen I'll get a 'cook-book shelf....'. If that helps??

The cabinet is open in 2 ways, so on the other side is my computer (not in this picture duhhh), and 'some' books for Sanne. Yes, I'm infecting her already with the "need-all-the-books-you-can-get-virus". And her cute strawler for her babydolls....

Ofcourse not all of my books are shown here, I've got more stashed away in boxes. To many to have in my livingroom. My favorites are here, and the one I still have to read once....

Greetings!

Messing with the wrong person....

Just had to get rid of this. Yesterday morning we received a registered letter from our 'association of home owners' (luckely we don't have that anymore in 2 weeks!). The content was shocking. We live in an apartment building with hallways where everybody can come. In the hallway leading to our appartment (and leading to 2 other ones...) there has been some stains on the carpeting. Well, they are there for over 1 year now... But suddenly the 'association' has decided we made these stains (because sometimes we put some garbage outside...and that's true.... because we don't have an outside and I don't always have the possibility to walk to the containers outside, on the otherside of our parkinglot...). And now they were saying they warned us twice (HUH??? never spoken anyone). They said a neighbor had complained by letter (never got it, but they said he slipped it under our door....). And now, since we were moving, the requested our notary to keep 250 Euros as a warrant, untill we cleaned the hallway (which we didn't stain!!). And we had to do this before we were moving (well, that's in 1,5 weeks from now...) or shortly after that! I was shocked. How could they?? Just because we live there, and we are moving, we have to pay? No way!!! We are paying service costs like 140 euro's a month (and a euro is somewhat like a dollar). So much money for NOTHING down the drain. So, they are messing with the wrong people. We just called our notary and he luckely explained that the association can NOT withold any money from us at all. Only if we weren't paying, for example, our servicecosts, which we are. So the can go FT. Sorry. But i'm mad. And they are not finished with us yet. Haha, so they made a threat about that 250 euros which they cannot even do. FUN. So we will wright them a 'nice' letter back. You can guess what's in there.... So, with that of my back, I can laugh again. And i'm glad i'm a little bit smarter than they think I am...!

LOVE her!!!

O, I use that title often. But I just totally completely love my little girl. At night, when I bring her to bed we walk in the hallway and pass our big mirror. We always cuddle, kiss and make faces in the mirror. And everytime we do that I'm thinking: this would make great photos. So tonight I had the bright idea ;) of getting my camera and said to Sanne we were going to make a real photoshoot. She was laughing, giggling and making faces. She loved it. I turned the camera towards ourselves. Luckely I have a digital camera and the screen can flip and turn, so you can look at yourself while photographing. Now she was watching herself in the mirror she made more funny faces than ever when I normally photograph her. So maybe I'll be doing this more often!! Look at us, being silly (the red cheeks of Sanne are because she NEEDED to go to sleep....don't be shocked, painted my hair red/brown.... getting it blond again in the summer LOL):

Aren't they fun? Probably good scrapmaterial right? I'm looking forward to use this pictures already!!

And I've made some new lay-outs. Look at Sanne in the morning, and look at her giving me a big kiss, squeezing my lips all together (was she afraid my tongue would come out LOL).

Yes, we're going to Italy!!

I'm soooo happy!! Yesterday I booked our vacation to Italy. We are going to the Adriatic Coast. Just stay on a camping (in a bungalow) and relax for one whole week! Some people (including some friends of me grrrrrrr) go a few times a year on holidays. I'm not that lucky. We have our own company and that's our priority. We've had some issues with personal, and than it's not a wise thing to go on a holiday.... So this year, for the first in 4 years!!!, we are going to another country. And since 2003 (the birth of Sanne in the summer....) we only went once 1 week to a nice place in Holland when Sanne was 1 year old. In 2005 it was impossible to go, and now in 2006 we are going!! I'm so happy, look at this:

We are going by car. Because I'm tooooo afraid to fly. Yes I know. I've been to the Canarian Islands, Fuerte Ventura, Lancerote, Spain, Portugal, Israël and all by plain. But since 9-11 nobody is getting me in a plane anymore. Although everybody tells me it's more safe than travelling by car... But hee.... I can only think of the song of Alanis Morrissette: "Isn't it ironic?". So... we have to travel by car. 13 hours of driving. Well, I figured, we go by night, so Sanne will sleep in the car (I hope!!), and we can take turns driving right? But yesterday I saw a documentary on National Geographic about the huge accident in one of the tunnels between Italy and I thought Austria...That was really awefull to see. So... I told Arjan yesterday I'm not travelling in that tunnel.... He said that I should have think about that before I booked the vacation and that he is not driving extra miles just to avoid the tunnel... So there's a lot talking to be done... have to confince him I simply cannot go in that tunnel ;-))

And look at my little lovely girl. She's so happy. We bought her a nice playhouse for in our new garden. Only 3 weeks from now we are moving...... Exciting!!

Tired....

So, I finally helped Arjan with our house today. Sanne went to grandpa and grandma and I had a task: clean the house... Well, don't imagine buckets with water and a nice smell.... but dust (of drilling...), pieces of cement (of breaking down walls), tools everywhere!! Arjan is working all the rooms at the same time I guess.... so his tools lay everywhere around the house. I also helped him with some wiring and getting cables done.... it was so cold (7 degrees inside!!! you can see my breathing there...). So after 2 hours of work I was more waiting and giving him his tools... so I got very very very really freaking cold. Couldn't even feel my toes anymore... Well... i was really pathetic...hee hee.

We went to grandma en grandma about 18.00 hours and get some soup there. Went home at 19.30 hours and put Sanne to bed. She is sleeping soundly now (after 2 weeks of evenings and nights crying.... pffffff that is so tiring...). But now she is doing better. Must have been some kind of fase....

Well, Arjan went back tonight to the house again. And I'm afraid that he won't be home before midnight... Tomorrow the painters will come and everything had to be done by then (because it not handy if Arjan is doing his thing when the painters are working also....). I can imagine there request ;-).

So, now I'm really tired (worked hard for one day huh...). I'm going to read in my new book of "Nicci French" (Catch me when I'm falling, a literair thriller). I so love those writers (it's a married couple). Not much energy to scrap, although I feel like scrapping. That has to wait till tomorow. O, maybe a nice latest and gratest to show off:

This is such a fun picture of Sanne playing with daddy. He was lifting her up up-side-down and she was giggling and laughing and screaming. All of a sudden I see her laughing and thinking: GOTCHAAAA!!!.
